Web Hosts and the Secrets They do not Want to Share

Some web hosting companies, as other companies in different industries, have things they would rather not let you know about. In fact, they never reveal them. But what are they?

Well, one thing you should be aware of are the customer reviews that you can read on the web hosts website. Usually these are not genuine reviews at all. What some of these web hosting services do is hire some individuals to write fake reviews using a variety of names.

Another thing you should be wary of is when the web host claims that you will have unlimited web space and bandwidth. This statement is nonsense anyway because stating that something is unlimited in the cyber world is an impossibility. This doesn’t stop the hosts using it as an adverting ploy. These companies know that the average Joe will not even utilise a fraction of the resources that were originally allocated to them, meaning that they can then sell more packages.

One other “secret” is the fact that web hosts never reveal their total (or even partial) CPU usage. This murky secret is so that they can suspend users when they near the CPU usage that was allocated to them, therefore freeing up those resource s for a new client. The suspended client will therefore never know what the real CPU usage was and will consequently not be able to do anything about it.

Just to keep your mind at rest though, not all of the web hosting services are scrupulous like this. Most of the web hosting services that are available today are fine, upstanding pillars of their industry and give nothing but customer satisfaction. Just bear in mind though that there will be some smaller companies that are not what they seem.
